Large flowers are a muted mauve with a slight orangy cast. The eye and
edge are subdued violet and a pronounced orange center contrasts nicely
with the violet eye before funneling into a small green throat, all of
which evokes a sense of ominous weather approaching at sunset. The
flowers face the viewer nicely on well branched scapes during a long
bloom period. Fertile both ways.
(Rice-J ‘04) 30” scapes, 5.5” flowers, midlate season, semi-evergreen, tet.
